Teacher training focused on Mat Pilates, movement principles, exercise repertoire and practical teaching application.
Where Pilates teaching begins.
For those looking to become certified in Mat Pilates and build a strong foundation in movement, coaching and teaching.
Our Mat Pilates Certification is AUSactive accredited and internationally recognised through ICREPs, giving you a recognised qualification to begin teaching Mat Pilates.
You’ll learn the principles, anatomy and biomechanics that underpin Pilates, alongside the practical skills to apply that knowledge in a teaching environment.
Our education is principles-led. We teach you to understand what you’re asking the body to do and why, so you can think critically, coach effectively and make informed decisions beyond a memorised sequence.
You’ll graduate qualified to teach Mat Pilates, with the knowledge and practical ability to begin working with a wide range of people and bodies.
For Pilates lovers, movement enthusiasts, career changers and anyone ready for something new. You may already practise Pilates, or you may be coming from something entirely different. No previous teaching or fitness experience is required.
For trainers and coaches looking to expand where their career can take them. Mat Pilates gives you another way to work with clients, teach movement and step into new studio and group teaching environments.
For those already working with the body who want to add Pilates to their professional practice and create new ways to apply their existing knowledge with clients.

Our Brisbane teacher training is hosted at Move Pilates in Ascot, one of Brisbane’s established Pilates communities. Located on Racecourse Road, the studio offers a welcoming, professional environment for students to learn, practise and develop their teaching across both Mat and Reformer Pilates.
Our Melbourne teacher training is hosted at Reformer Factory in Rowville. Reformer, Mat Pilates and yoga all sit within the studio, with inclusivity and body positivity forming a clear part of how the business approaches movement. That matters in teacher training. Learning to teach well starts with understanding that there is no single body, ability or starting point in front of you.
Session Labs takes a distinctly Munich approach to modern wellness: movement and recovery under one roof. Pilates sits alongside infrared and red-light training, sauna and recovery technology, creating an environment where performance and restoration are considered together. It’s progressive without losing sight of the fundamentals, making it a fitting home for In Balance in Munich.
Sydney is home to In Balance Education. Our Caringbah HQ is where the education was built and where our approach to Pilates teaching continues to develop. Students train directly within the business behind the course, surrounded by the educators, thinking and standards that shape In Balance.
Our Bali courses are held at Pilates by Bambu in Bingin, Uluwatu. At Bambu, Pilates sits alongside strength training, functional fitness, mobility and recovery rather than operating as a separate discipline. Students spend the course inside a wider training culture where coaching, movement and recovery are already connected, which makes it a particularly strong home for In Balance education.
Our Gold Coast courses are delivered at House of Motion in Miami. The studio brings Mat Pilates together with strength, cardio and infrared heat, creating a training environment that looks beyond Pilates in isolation. It reflects the wider understanding of movement we want our teachers to develop and gives students a strong setting to put that understanding into practice.
Our Oslo teacher training is hosted at GLØD Yoga & Pilates on Parkveien in Frogner. The studio brings Pilates, yoga, sculpt, recovery-focused practices and teacher education under the same roof. It gives In Balance students a place where movement practice and continued education already sit alongside one another, within walking distance of central Oslo.
Our Wellington teacher training is hosted at Soul Pilates on Lambton Quay in the CBD. Soul teaches both Reformer and Mat Pilates, with a strong focus on making movement accessible across different levels of experience. It gives students a working Pilates environment in the centre of Wellington to learn, practise and develop their teaching.
Good Habits in Amsterdam Oud-West was built around a simple idea: people are more likely to keep moving when they enjoy where they train and feel part of it. Its Pilates and strength classes are deliberately small, with consistency and connection sitting at the centre of the studio. For future teachers, it is a useful reminder that good programming is only part of the job. How you teach people matters just as much.
Before starting, we ask that you have completed at least 25 Pilates classes as a participant. This gives you experience of the movement, exercises and client perspective before learning to teach.
Assessment focuses on your ability to understand, apply and teach what you’ve learned. Your theory is assessed through a multiple-choice exam after each module, while your in-person training includes practical teaching where you apply your skills with fellow students.
You receive educator guidance, course check-ins, real time feedback and support throughout your training.
