Complete teacher training across both Mat and Reformer Pilates in one course.
Two disciplines. One complete qualification.
For those looking to become certified in both Mat and Reformer, with greater flexibility in where and how they teach.
Our Mat + Reformer Certification is AUSactive accredited and internationally recognised through ICREPs, bringing both disciplines together in one complete qualification.
You’ll begin with Mat, building the principles, anatomy and movement understanding that underpin Pilates before progressing into Reformer.
Our education is principles-led. We teach you to understand what you’re asking the body to do and why, so you can think critically, read movement, coach effectively and make informed decisions beyond a memorised sequence.
You’ll graduate qualified in both Mat and Reformer, with the knowledge and practical ability to teach across a range of environments.
For Pilates lovers, movement enthusiasts, career changers and anyone ready for something new. You may already practise Pilates, or you may be coming from something entirely different.
For trainers and coaches looking to expand where their career can take them. Pilates opens the door to new clients, new teaching environments and a broader way to work in movement.
For those already working with the body who want to expand their practice through Pilates, creating new ways to work with clients and apply their existing knowledge.

Our Melbourne teacher training is hosted at Reformer Factory in Rowville. Reformer, Mat Pilates and yoga all sit within the studio, with inclusivity and body positivity forming a clear part of how the business approaches movement. That matters in teacher training. Learning to teach well starts with understanding that there is no single body, ability or starting point in front of you.
Our Brisbane teacher training is hosted at Move Pilates in Ascot, one of Brisbane’s established Pilates communities. Located on Racecourse Road, the studio offers a welcoming, professional environment for students to learn, practise and develop their teaching across both Mat and Reformer Pilates.
Sydney is home to In Balance Education. Our Caringbah HQ is where the education was built and where our approach to Pilates teaching continues to develop. Students train directly within the business behind the course, surrounded by the educators, thinking and standards that shape In Balance.
Our Bali courses are held at Pilates by Bambu in Bingin, Uluwatu. At Bambu, Pilates sits alongside strength training, functional fitness, mobility and recovery rather than operating as a separate discipline. Students spend the course inside a wider training culture where coaching, movement and recovery are already connected, which makes it a particularly strong home for In Balance education.
Our Oslo teacher training is hosted at GLØD Yoga & Pilates on Parkveien in Frogner. The studio brings Pilates, yoga, sculpt, recovery-focused practices and teacher education under the same roof. It gives In Balance students a place where movement practice and continued education already sit alongside one another, within walking distance of central Oslo.
Our Wellington teacher training is hosted at Soul Pilates on Lambton Quay in the CBD. Soul teaches both Reformer and Mat Pilates, with a strong focus on making movement accessible across different levels of experience. It gives students a working Pilates environment in the centre of Wellington to learn, practise and develop their teaching.
Before starting, we ask that you have completed at least 25 Pilates classes as a participant. This gives you experience of the movement, exercises and client perspective before learning to teach.
Assessment focuses on your ability to understand, apply and teach what you’ve learned. Your theory is assessed through a multiple-choice exam after each module, while your in-person training includes practical teaching where you apply your skills with fellow students.
You receive educator guidance, course check-ins, real time feedback and support throughout your training.
